Savstrom Hakusui, born in Fukuoka, Japan, is a captivating biwa artist dedicated to preserving and evolving the traditions of Kinshin-ryu biwa. Since becoming an apprentice of Furusawa Shisui in 2018, Hakusui has honed his skills, performing at revered shrines and temples such as Ueno Toshogu, Enoshima Jinja, and Sengakuji. In 2022, he was bestowed the name Hakusui, marking his recognition as a distinguished artist. As a member of the Nihon Biwagaku Kyokai and the Deputy Manager of the Kinshin-ryu Zenkoku Issuikai East Tokyo branch, Hakusui is deeply committed to sharing the beauty and power of biwa with audiences worldwide.
